Progressive Cocktail and hors d’ oeuvres Weekend Review
The weather smiled on Campit this weekend, not too hot, not to chilly- PERFECT!
We kicked off the weekend with our customary Meet ‘n Greet and bonfire Friday evening at the Campit Café .
Saturday morning after coffee at the café, everyone got busy planning and preparing a varied menu of tasty tidbits for the evenings progressive hors d’ oeuvres party. (Well, most everyone, a few of us still had to go pick up the last few needed ingredients). We kept down the walking by combining everyone’s offerings at 2 sites. Seasonal Brian’s site was our first stop, with some of the tackiest hors d’ oeuvres has to offer. From the bottom shelf Vodka and Tang libation to the aerosol cheese product on knock-off crackers and slices of Little Debbie choco rolls, Brian had all the bases covered. But then they presented us with Seasonal Tom’s Marinated Beef Tips, grilled cheesy bread, meatballs, a nice relish tray, Vivian’s fabulous and renowned Deviled Eggs, and new seasonal Tony brought Hello Kitty F.U. shots for everyone. Our second stop was at Jim and Dale’s site, where Campit provided Parmesean Cheese Puffs made by Tom H. D&J provided smoked salmon with sour cream and dill on crackers and Sangria, Eric’s famous meatballs were also a hit. Seasonal Tim brought several kinds of nuts and baklava, Seasonal Steve brought a huge vegetable platter, and Greg and Dwayne treated us to a cocoa tres leches cake and coffee and cookies. If I forgot to mention anyone, I am truly sorry…still feeling the last of the Sangria..but everyone did a great job, and everyone enjoyed themselves. What a fun way to socialize and have a chance to meet some new friends and catch up with old friends!
