Campit was always outdoorsy and woodsy. Camp fires, new faces, good fun and affordable.
Decades later, the woods have stretched to the East and to the West. The cherry pits that graveled the original roads, and from which we got our name, are long gone.
Now over 40 acres, many more friendly faces, a large festive pool, music and entertainment and a moment where you don’t have to explain who you are. Amazing and affordable.
How Campit Became a Destination
Campit began with a simple but powerful idea: create a space where LGBTQ+ individuals could gather in nature and exist fully, without expectation, without stereotype, without compromise.
Over the years, that idea grew into something much bigger.
What started as a campground evolved into a full outdoor resort offering:
